Biskaya 2.0
Reinventing our classic!
Since 2011, the Biskaya has been the sportiest of our sea kayaks. We are now launching the new edition of this great all-rounder in seven different sizes. This allows us to tailor the Biskaya even more individually to you and your needs. Not least, the new range of sizes has prompted us to adapt our naming system. The numbers for the boat types represent the optimal rider weight (+/- 10 kg).
Biskaya 80/90/100
In order to achieve greater initial stability and even greater maneuverability, we have slightly “softened” the bottom of the Biskaya 80/90/100 compared to the Biskaya 75/85. It has a more U-shaped hull than the other four sizes, which is particularly advantageous when playing in the surf or “rock gardening.” Nevertheless, the Biskaya 80/90/100 are also more stable and easier to keep on course on long tours and in following seas than their predecessors from the Biskaya 1.0 generation.
Cockpit: We have installed our very popular Z-cockpit in sizes 75, 80, 85, 90, and 100. It is slightly longer than the X-cockpit of the Biskayas 1.0 and makes it easier to get in and out.
Rudder: The Biskaya 2.0 is available with either a Lettmann rudder skeg or a kayaking skeg.
On request, we can also convert the Lettmann steering skeg into a skeg with an insert if a steering function is not required initially. This gives you all the options: you can paddle your kayak with a skeg or convert the skeg back into a rudder if necessary.
Which Biskaya for whom?
The Biskaya 75/80 and 85/90 appeal to paddlers of the same size. We make no secret of this. Anyone who fits in a 75 will also fit in an 80, and anyone who feels comfortable sitting in an 85 will feel the same in a 90. If you feel cramped in both pairs of boats, go for the Biskaya 100.
The numbers in the boat names represent the optimal rider weight (+/- 15 to 20 kg).
Paddlers who are looking for an agile yet fast kayak and at the same time do not want to compromise on maximum initial stability should definitely consider these variants. Side note for those switching from the Biskaya 1.0: The Biskaya 80/90/100 come closest to the Biskaya 1.0 MV / HV in terms of initial and final stability as well as maneuverabilit
Take it sporty, try the Biskaya 2.0 - the ultimate all-rounder for training sessions, day trips or travel.

Special safety instructions for the use of canoes and kayaks
- The product is designed to be driven by human power.
- Before setting off, you should check that your equipment is in perfect working order and complete. Ensure that all bolts are tight in the case of sealed boats. If a steering system/skeg system is installed, check that it is working properly. Check the boat hull for damage.
- Mark your boat and important pieces of equipment with your name and contact details so that the material can be assigned to you.
- Equip your boat with the appropriate buoyancy aids. This will not only prevent your boat from sinking, but you can also hold on to it in the event of capsizing until help arrives. Boats with sealed storage compartments or boats that are unsinkable by the manufacturer do not necessarily need to be upgraded. The storage compartments act as buoyancy aids if they are properly closed.
- Kayaks and canoes can be bulky and heavy or unwieldy - get a second person to help you load and carry them and/or use loading aids and a boat trolley.
